Parent teen driving contract
Setting expectations up-front
When a teen is about to become a licensed driver, it is a stressful time for both the parent and the teen. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has developed this parent teen agreement that forms a behavioral contract for teen driving. It's well-known that driving crashes are a leading cause of teen injury and death and the goal of this agreement is to put in place a safety framework.
Download this agreement. Then both parent and teen should read each item and come to agreement, fill out the form, and place it in a highly visible spot in your home. Refer to the agreement during stressful times or when there are driving-related issues that need to be resolved.
